Shop Local and Give Back to Your Community This Mother’s Day

Shopping local has never been more important than times like these. Small businesses everywhere are still suffering losses due to the damage of Covid restrictions. Let’s do our best to support these small shops in our local community this Mother’s Day.

Chadlou’s Coffee Roasters

Located in the heart of Kailua, Chadlou’s has been a community favorite for basically forever. Also referred to as “Chads” by many of the regulars. Chads has quality coffee, delicious food, and some fun local retail products as well. Whether you take your mom out on a coffee date or pick her up a bag of coffee beans, you won’t be disappointed if you support this family owned coffee shop. Plus you will be blessing another beautiful mother of 5, the shop owner!

Mo Made Jewelry

Moana is one of the sweetest small shop owners you will find. She designs beautiful one of kind jewelry that can withstand the wear of a busy mother. All of her work is simply beautiful and I am always screenshotting pictures to send to my husband. One of the best qualities of Mo Made Jewelry is that Moana allows you to customize your order so you can get exactly what you are hoping for. Mo’s creativity and talent are definitely worth investing in for the mother in your life. Check out her shop before she sells out because she is going to be on maternity leave for her second beautiful baby coming soon.

Risk It Design

Risk it design is a small art business that carries lots of fun stationary items, stickers, and beautiful artwork. Kristi the artist is so talented and her products are sold in multiple shops on the island. She is also an awesome Youtuber so you should definitely check out her channel here. Her online shop is currently being worked on but her instagram has all the updates you need. So if you have mom that likes to scrapbook or needs a cute sticker for her water bottle or laptop be sure to hit up Kristi from Riskit Design.

Twin Islands

keiki trucker hat

Wether your mom is a local girl or someone who just loves the beach, Twin Islands has something for all moms. This surf apparel shop carries comfortable clothing you can wear to the beach or out and about. One of my favorite items is their trucker hat. It is the perfect hat for taking to the beach, on hikes, or even to the grocery store when you have a bad hair day. They have keiki sizes as well, so if you’re looking for something for your wife you could get a matching set for her and your child, but you will probably be tempted to get something for yourself too. So just make it a whole family affair! Be sure to check out Twin Islands amazing beach apparel.

Yireh

Yireh is an ethical clothing company that carries some of the most beautiful dresses you will find. The owner is a mama of two beautiful keiki and is an inspiration to all working mamas. Yireh carries such beautiful prints and flattering styles, some of which are nursing friendly which is so exciting for us nursing mamas. If your mother loves beautiful clothing (I mean who doesn’t) you should checkout some of their gorgeous products here.

Tylandia Art

Does your mom like tattoos? Tylandia Art does art on tees, paper, and even human bodies! Ty is an artist and now a tattoo artist at the Collective Kailua. If you want some fun artwork to wear be sure to check her out at her next market and check out her instagram here.
