Hey I’m Tani, wife to Drake and “Mom” to 5 beautiful children on the island of O’ahu
I usually have an vanilla iced latte (i know basic) and a few small children in tow. My hobbies include writing (go figure) singing and starting projects at 1 in the morning. Oh and rearranging my furniture.
Why the Motherhood Blog?
Being a mother can be difficult and no one should have to do it alone. Personally doing motherhood with other moms has made the hard parts of motherhood a little more bearable.
Mom life is not easy despite what social media tells you. I am very fortunate to have so many wise mamas to seek out for advice, comfort, solitude, and help. However; when I looked to my peers, I noticed many did not have that same luxury. Many of my other mom friends had only a handful of other mothers to lean on.
That’s why I have this dream to create a community for mamas young and old, wise and worried, confident and struggling, to share in the blessings and hardships motherhood brings together. A space beyond distance and nap times, where we can share the wins and the losses.
Not a club where we complain about our children or spouses (or lack of a spouse). But a place of fruitfulness where we can support and encourage one another and feel a little less lonely in this journey.
Mama, Here’s What I’ve Got
Unfortunately there is not “how to” book on motherhood and I am no expert. But I am here to share all the messes I’ve made. Like everything in life we live and we learn, but maybe we can skip some of those hard parts with a little help from one another.
Every mother, child, and situation is different, but that’s what makes it such a special experience. What I can offer is my motherhood journey, whether you totally agree with everything, disagree on most things, or fall somewhere in between, I am glad you’re here. It is not always pretty, but it is real and it is my unraveled motherhood (you get it right?). I can’t wait to hear about yours. – Tani
